Music has a big role in the field of propaganda. Music has a certain sound, certain lyrics, and it
grabs peoples attention. Music can create an impact once it has grabbed an audience on the topic that
the music was written for. Music has been involved throughout the years aiding specific propaganda.
Through the film that we watched one of the examples that was provided was the workers union
song. This was used to gather people to start the workers union force. It worked because the song
was catchy and it gained peoples interest.
I believe that music is very important in the use of propaganda. It really does no harm, its either
you like it or you don't like it. Music is a good way to persuade an audience. As long as the message
is straight forward, than that song could be one of the most important aspects of the propaganda
issue. Music in general usually makes a powerful statement towards something. Little jingles that are
made for commercials, and political statements are really good examples of this. Overall music and
the power of its lyrics are an important factor in propaganda and getting people on certain sides.
