This is a blog devoted to the ideas and analysis of BSU students as they discover, listen, read, analyze the works of various musical artists, across various genres, whose music centers on political, social, and/or cultural issues. The ultimate goal of the class, other than focusing on the students' writing skills, is to allow them the space and time to express their own opinions and ideas, to expose them to music that can and has made significant change.

Music impacts me because the type of music I am listening too affects my mood. If i am listening to sad music, it can make me sad and I’d I’m listening to upbear music it can make me happy. Music mostly impacts me positively because it can make a room that is completely silent and boring become alive and interesting. Sometimes I don’t like music when I am in a bad mood and a sad song comes on because it makes me even more upset. I prefer to listen to happy upbeat songs when I am in a bad mood, to get me out of the bad mood. In the summer I mostly prefer to listen to country because they are talking about the hot sun and water, which I’m usually around in the summer. I don’t listen to country as much in the other seasons because it makes me miss the summer too much! In the winter I mostly listen to rap and alternative music but also sometimes country. Music can affect my mood but it can’t completely change my whole mood.
