I did the song maggies farm written by Bob Dlyan and was also recorded on January 15, 1965, and released on the album Bring it all back home on March 22 of the same year. Like many other Dylan songs of the 1965–66 period, "Maggie's Farm" is based in electric blues. It was released as a single in the United kingdom on June 4, 1965, and peaked at #22 on the hot song chart.
Maggies farm is a song about the power structure and the powerful abusing the less powerful because they can. Something that is common in todays world becuase the powerful are so used to getting what they want since they believe they are untouchable. In the song bob sings that he will no return to that treatment because its not worth it to him he sees his self worth and that will not be diminished by others.I agree with that becuase self love and pride are one of the few things you have so dont let it be taken away from you.
Maggies farm is when life becomes art since it documents the hardship and frustations while at work. Its a song that you resonate with when your humanity is being taken way from you because you got to serve somebody else. I like the song becuase bob dylan made an important point outside of working he sang about loving somebody else but its not gonna be enough when you need to be taken seriously that you need to to stand up and look out for them also so they can see that you see their value.
This is a blog devoted to the ideas and analysis of BSU students as they discover, listen, read, analyze the works of various musical artists, across various genres, whose music centers on political, social, and/or cultural issues. The ultimate goal of the class, other than focusing on the students' writing skills, is to allow them the space and time to express their own opinions and ideas, to expose them to music that can and has made significant change.

I didn't listen to this song, but I felt like I had to after reading this. Love how you said standing up for them so that they can see you see their value.
