Music's Role In My Life

Music's Role In My Life

As most people can agree on, music is not only calming, but can bring out the better side in yourself. Over the years, music has seriously become a backbone in my life. Not a day goes by where the radio is not on in my car driving somewhere, or playing from a speaker in my room. I truly believe that by having music around, it gives your body a feeling of "letting go" and enjoying the moment. Whenever I'm having a bad day, music is always there to get my mind off of things. Usually country music- Luke Bryan, Chris Young, Luke Combs, Kane Brown... the list could go on forever!

Music definitely plays a big part in the social part of my life. As you can see, I've attended so many different concerts with my friends. I feel as though we get attached to each other while we are enjoying something everyone likes. Music is a form of happiness, and to myself (and my friends), those summer nights filled with performances, good food, good energy radiate positivity. Music creates memories that last a lifetime, which is also why it means a lot to me.

Additionally, I believe that music can change our perceptions of life. By having a bad day then listening to a really genuine, uplifting song can change my mood completely. I have had many friends and family members relate to me by this, which is why I think it is actually one of the best forms of therapy for myself. If I do bad on a test, have an argument with a friend or family member, or even if I am just working myself up (overthinking) for no reason at all- music is always there to turn to.

Sometimes in songs, the lyrics can relate to me advice wise better than anyone can say. That's why I truly cherish just being alone sometimes, listening to music. Sometimes for someone's own health, they find certain ways to improve their quality of life in different forms; taking medicine, working out, joining a team, etc., and I believe this form of music is my element needed.

  3. I agree that music is always there to turn to no matter what the mood is. It never really crossed my mind that it is like a form of therapy, but I agree 100% with that statement.
