Blowing in the wind

Although blowing in the wind was never considered to be a protest song; I feel as if the lyrics and overall theme can be taken as such. The strong emotional connection in Bob Dylan's voice, to the actual meaning of the song is prominent. I believe that he was trying to send a message of unity in a divided society. He did so with his music.

I stand strong on my belief that the phrase blowing in the wind is used to fight back against a strong power. Almost as if enough people blow back against a strong gust of wind, they could potentially stop it. This song stood strong in the beliefs of change, as well as moving forward. This song has many other ways that it could be interpreted.

  1. I agree with your claim that although he didn't mean for the song to be a protest song it for sure resembles one.
