For the times are a changing

Bob Dylan is just one of those artists who seemingly blows away any audience. Growing up with parents who are big Bob Dylan fans, I've always been subjected to his music. I can recall always recognizing his basic songs, but until now I never knew the true meaning to his work. I payed special attention to his song "The Times They Are A-Changing". This was written in 1963 and lives on to be one of the most influential songs yet. As most of Bob Dylans songs, this particular one is traditional folk, with lyrics filled with his thoughts on his world around him. Bob Dylan emulates a traditional folk style song by gathering listeners around in the first stanza. Later on Bob Dylan goes on to say "admit the waters around you have grown". This is directed towards the United States government which most of his songs are. He is making the connection of citizens not paying attention to the world around them, and not caring about the government controlling them. As well as the issues with government and war, he was big on the fight to end racism. Dylan didn't understand why people could witness racism everywhere and not take a stand to help end these issues. He goes on through the song to speak of how bad the times are and how freedom isn't really present in America during this period in time. Although he speaks a lot of the bad times, he reassures his audience that times are changing and the good is rising. He urges his listeners to keep fighting for their freedom and remain hopeful in their fight to end violence.

Out of all 350 of Dylans songs this could possibly be his most famous. He is one of the most creditable artists and his music will live on for many more generations.
