Bob Dylan

This week in class we've learned about folk singer Bob Dylan. He became famous at a very young. We watched a video about him as well and a lot of people was talking how much of a good folk singer he is. Most of his music had a powerful messages and he still would make music even if people didn't like or agree with it. I can that I respect that about him.

We had an assignment to choose a Bob Dylan song and write notes on meaning/impact & lyrics. I decided to pick "A hard rain's a gonna fall". I personally wouldn't listen to any of his music especially the song that pick for the assignment. Folk music isn't what I would vibe to. I am mostly a hip hop, r&b, and soul. When I was listening to this song I understood the meaning but him singing wasn't doing it for me. They're other people that did a cover of the song which are Laura Marling & Walking off the earth ( which is better than the original song). But I did like the guitar in the background it sound really nice. They're a few lines that I will explain in my own words. I noticed there is 2 line that he constantly repeats himself . "Where hungry is ugly, where souls are forgotten" I may be wrong I think it means that it has to do with people dying from hunger or getting killed than they get forgotten. "Oh, what did you see, my blue-eyed son? Oh, what did you see, my darling young one?" which is interesting to me. Bob Dylan is still pretty relevant today but not sure if he still makes music or not.

  1. I wrote about the same song! Bob Dylan is still making music. He released albums in 2018, 2017, 2015, 2014, and so on and so forth.
